Gentlemen!
We are only 7 days away. I hope you are getting as excited as I am for this weekend away as Men. In this email I hope to answer questions you may have and give you an idea of the flow of the weekend. All sections and activities are optional and there will NOT be a collecting of phones or other items. Come as you are and BE in the moment. This email will also contain the items that you need to bring.
There are 70 men registered to attend this weekend. Check in will begin on Friday the 4th @ 3pm. Our welcome talk will begin at 5:30 in Magna Hall. All are welcome to enjoy the grounds and a cigar prior to the 5:30 welcome.
On Friday evening we will pray the Stations of the Cross at 6pm. A Lenten dinner will follow. Fr Richard will give a talk and then the evening will transition to a time of socializing with Whiskey & Cigars. At 10:30 we will begin adoration. Nocturnal adoration will continue from 11pm to 8:15am. All are welcome to sign up for an hour.
Saturday morning will begin with benediction followed by Holy Mass at 8:15. Breakfast of French toast, Sausage, Home fries, Fruit and more will follow. There will be two talks in the morning with the second talk discussing the making of great cigars. This talk will be outdoors while enjoying a cigars. It will also consist of a Q & A session with our friend Sean Poza. Regional Sales Manager for Arturo Fuente Cigar Company and J.C. Newman Cigar Company covering Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. On Saturday there will be at least 3 priest available to hear confessions during free times.
We will enjoy a monastic style lunch and hear a talk from Fr. Richard to start the afternoon. There will be FREE TIME and then we will gather for the singing of the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3pm. There will be another Talk and some sharing, followed by another hour of FREE TIME.
We will share a MANLY Ribeye dinner with all the fixings at 6pm! Following our leisurely dinner we will pray Vespers together. The evening will conclude with a social of WHISKEY & CIGARS!
On Sunday we will begin with the Rosary at 9am followed by breakfast. We will share in another talk from Fr. Richard and then hear from Mike of Chapline Distillery in Bulverde Texas on the making of Bourbon Whiskey.
We will conclude the “retreat” with the celebration of Holy Mass at 12:30. All wives and families are invited to join us for Mass. Following Mass we will share in a BBQ lunch and ALL are welcome to spend the afternoon with your families enjoying what we commonly refer to as “Sangria Sunday Afternoons”. There will be sangria donated for the afternoon and I have even heard rumors of a possible “Tasting”.
Please bring the following:
Personal (comfortable) clothing and toiletries
Bible, rosary and other materials
Towel for showering - Colorful so you know its yours
Personal Cigars & Whiskey for the weekend
Linens ARE provided - if you like, you are welcome to bring extra pillow and/or blanket
All snacks, sodas, water, coffee, tea & ice will be provided
